Founded by Grant Boston, Forth Tyne brings together the eye of an art director, the discipline of a designer and the commercial understanding of a long-term brand partner.
Our name comes from the sea areas around Northumberland, where Grant’s family fished from the early nineteenth century. That sense of place and purpose continues to guide our work.
The best projects begin with curiosity, commitment and a sense of possibility. We work with people who care deeply about what they do, helping turn their ideas into brands, products and experiences with a character of their own.
Grant Boston
Grant Boston is a creative director, designer and retail expert with over thirty years’ experience helping brands and individuals communicate their personality. His work combines conceptual thinking with practical understanding, warmth and long-term creative partnerships.
From a Saturday job at The Conran Shop while studying at Central Saint Martins, Grant went on to help establish Issey Miyake’s reputation in Britain, style the band New Order and curate the exhibition programme at Egg. His work spans fashion, interiors, culture and place, including exhibitions for Land Rover and the Museum of Childhood.
He has collaborated with Margaret Howell on runway shows and exhibitions celebrating British design, and worked extensively with Bamford, Daylesford Organic, John Lewis, Wildsmith Skin and Lemaire.
Alongside commercial projects, Grant has been a visiting lecturer at the Royal College of Art, a mentor at the Centre for Fashion Enterprise and an adviser to social enterprises and charities including Different Kind and the Mare and Foal Sanctuary.
